INDICATION AND SAFETY SUMMARY

INDICATION

It is indicated for the treatment of ocular signs and symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis (hayfever) in adults. It should not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years. One ml of solution contains 1 mg olopatadine (as hydrochloride). One drop of solution (33 mg) contains 0.033 mg of Olopatadine.

DOSAGE

One drop of Olopatadine eye drops in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) twice daily. For ocular use.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

Hayeeze eye drops (olopatadine) contain benzalkonium chloride which may cause eye irritation. Benzalkonium chloride has also been reported to cause punctate keratopathy and/or toxic ulcerative keratopathy. Close monitoring is required with frequent or prolonged use in these patients. If symptoms do not improve or if they worsen within 48 hours, the drops should be discontinued, and a doctor consulted.

USE IN SPECIAL POPULATIONS

Hayeeze eye drops (olopatadine) is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential not using contraception. Hayeeze eye drops (olopatadine) should not be used during breast-feeding.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Most common adverse reactions (1 in 10 to 1 in 100 patients) are headache, dysgeusia, eye pain, eye irritation, dry eye, abnormal sensation in eyes, nasal dryness and fatigue. DRUG INTERACTIONS

In vitro studies indicate that Hayeeze eye drops (olopatadine) is unlikely to result in metabolic interactions with other concomitantly administered active substances.
